The interesting thing about the U.S. population is that as diverse a population as ours is, they are all very predictable. Business List
Our Business List contains over 25,000,000 business contacts at over 18,000,000 business locations. Within this massive B2B database, there are many pockets of ‘like’ businesses selectable by Standard Industry Classification Code (SIC Code). These businesses can be further selected by the size of the business. Ask yourself, what kinds of businesses are your ideal target? Businesses by sales revenue, or by the number of employee’s per location, can also be selected. The more you can reduce your total number of businesses to mail to, the more targeted your list becomes.
The business direct mail mailing list is also selectable by whether the business location is a single site location, branch location, or the headquarter of a larger organization. There are a number of other selects to better refine your b2b list. There are ethnic owned businesses, home based businesses, women owned businesses, and minority owned businesses.
Specialty Lists
All other direct mail mailing list files fall under the “catch all” category of Specialty Lists. These mailing lists range from response files of various direct mail campaigns, members to organizations, voter lists, state licensed databases, subscriber lists, ailment and prescription drug lists, etc... Generally speaking, these types of lists are far more costly than the mainstream compiled variety. They are also typically far smaller in quantity which means you have to consider mailing a larger geographic footprint to find enough addresses to mail.

We provide straight single-flight and multi-flight campaign broadcasts, we enhance our clients’ postal file with email addresses, and we offer a “match and deploy” service where-by we match email addresses to our clients file and then broadcast on their behalf.
Email Lists
Unlike postal direct mail mailing lists, marketers do not take possession of the email list. Instead, marketers provide the email creative to the email list provider, and the email provider broadcasts their HTML message out to the email list audience on their behalf. For those email lists where the postal mailing address is also captured, any and all selects typically found on a postal database is also available on our email list.
Email Append
BB Direct provides email append services to clients who want to enhance their postal address database with email address information. With email list data appended to your internal customer list, developing multi-channel integrated campaigns is a breeze. Our email database of postal and email address information contains over 300,000,000 email address records allowing high match rates to most email append customers.
BB Direct also performs a one-time permission pass whereby an email is broadcasted out to those match records requesting permission for future communication.
Match and Deploy
BB Direct’s Postal Plus Email (a.k.a. Match and Deploy) allows clients to have their HTML message be pushed out to their own database of customers. The process is the same as with the Email Append process. Where BB Direct finds a matched email address on the client’s postal database an email message is deployed. Match and Deploy campaigning is a great way to get your email communication out for those businesses who do not have a viable email broadcast system inhouse.
48 Month NCOA vs. 18 Month NCOA
When to use the 48 Month NCOA and when to use the 18 Month NCOA? They both do the same thing only the 48 Month NCOA process goes back 4 years in time where the 18 month process stops at a year and a half. The answer to which one to use lies in how frequent you mail to that particular file. And if the 18 Month NCOA will do, then it’s the best choice since it’s provided at a lower cost. Let’s detail this answer a bit further.
Just a few years ago, if your mail file was only used once every few years, or hasn’t been use in a few years, your best option would be to process via the 48 Month National Change of Address process. However, if you mail at least once every year, the better option would be the 18 Month National Change of Address process. Today, to maximize your postal discount, frequent mailers must show that their file was processed via NCOA within that previous 95 days. Therefore, frequency of mailing determines which NCOA process you will want to do. If you mail frequently (more than once every year and a half), you’ll never need to use the 48 Month NCOA process.
